My name is Martin Raeside, based in Tallaght in Dublin, Ireland, I qualified as a Toolmaker and have worked in the sheet metal industry for over 20 years.  Moving into the area of product design enabled me to expand my metalworking skills even further.  For many years I have been creating one-off pieces of furniture, children’s toys and trophies on a commission basis.   I was delighted to receive a commission from Hewlett Packard for the design and manufacture of a water-feature for an exhibition in Birmingham.

More recently I developed a range of copper candle holders and wall lights.  In 2010 I received a commission from Scouting Ireland – Irish Contingent to the World Scout Jamboree Sweden 2011, for a number of specially designed candle holders.  I am a member of the Crafts Council of Ireland and also the Irish Craft Association.

I have now turned my attention to art.  The media I mainly work with is copper, steel and timber and I have an interesting selection of work available
